Neil Young Fears U.S. Ban After Criticizing Trump: ‘What Happened to Freedom?’

Rock legend Neil Young is worried he might not be allowed back into the United States after his upcoming European tour, all because of his outspoken criticism of President Donald Trump.

Young, a dual citizen of Canada and the U.S., has never shied away from sharing his political views. Over the years, he has called Trump “a disgrace” and recently claimed the U.S. “has lost its standing” under his leadership.

Now, with a series of U.S. tour dates set for August, he’s questioning whether speaking his mind could lead to trouble.

Posting on his Archives website, Young expressed his concerns about returning home. “If I come back from Europe and get barred from the U.S., what does that say about freedom? I love America, its people, and its music, but if speaking my mind puts me at risk, then something is very wrong.”

His fears come amid reports of activists being detained or deported for voicing opposition to the government. Young suggested that under Trump’s leadership, those who disagree with him may face consequences, asking, “If you voted against Trump, does that mean you could go to jail? How spineless is that?”

Despite the uncertainty, Young is moving forward with his tour plans. He is set to begin his European run in Sweden on June 18 before heading to North America in August. However, he recently canceled a planned free concert in Ukraine due to safety concerns. With his U.S. dates approaching, fans are left wondering whether Neil Young will be allowed back home or if his music and message will be silenced.
