Iron Maiden is celebrating an incredible milestone—50 years of heavy metal greatness! To mark this special occasion, the legendary band is releasing a brand-new documentary film that will take fans on a journey through their unforgettable history.
This documentary, created in collaboration with Universal Pictures Content Group, will showcase the band’s evolution from its formation in 1975 by bassist Steve Harris in Leyton, East London, to their iconic status in rock music. What makes this documentary even more meaningful is that it includes the final interview from former lead vocalist Paul Di’Anno, who sadly passed away last year.
The film will feature interviews with the band members themselves and share perspectives from some of their dedicated fans, including famous names like Javier Bardem, Lars Ulrich, and Gene Simmons. It’ll dive deep into Iron Maiden’s impact on music and culture, shedding light on how the band helped shape the heavy metal movement and became a worldwide influence.
Helen Parker, Executive Vice President of Universal Pictures Content Group, expressed excitement about the project, saying: “We’re beyond thrilled to bring Iron Maiden’s legacy to cinemas worldwide. Working closely with the band and their passionate fans has been a unique experience, and we’re proud to tell their story during this landmark year.”
Iron Maiden’s manager, Rod Smallwood, added: “We’re honored that Universal has chosen to share our story with the world. We’ve given them full access to the band, our fans, and our peers. We believe this documentary will not only excite music lovers but anyone who enjoys the story of an underdog overcoming the odds to achieve success.”
Fans can look forward to an unforgettable celebration of Iron Maiden’s fearless creativity and their 50-year journey, coming soon to a cinema near you!
