International music icon and belly dance legend Shakira has announced that her sold-out concert in San Antonio, scheduled for June 13th, has been rescheduled due to a serious structural issue with the stage.
In a heartfelt message posted to her Instagram story, Shakira explained that her team relies on a third-party company in each city to provide the infrastructure for her concerts. This includes the stage and ceiling support needed for her production setup. Unfortunately, the truss system provided by the local company in San Antonio was found to be unsafe, leading to the difficult decision to postpone the show.
This isn’t the first time her tour has faced such issues. Shakira shared that after a similar problem in Boston, she personally requested a new team of engineers to inspect and re-evaluate the structure. Following a detailed review, she was given full assurance from the engineers and experts that the setup had been reinforced and was safe for future shows.
Still, despite all efforts, the San Antonio show could not go on. Shakira expressed her deep emotions, saying, “To not be able to perform for you tonight deeply affects me and my fans in San Antonio. I am here, devastated and heartbroken.”
The singer also confirmed that her tour will continue in Houston starting Monday, and she is currently working hard to reschedule the San Antonio concert as soon as possible. Fans are hopeful that a new date will be announced in the coming days.
