Megan Moroney and Sylvia Rhone to Be Honored at She Is The Music Awards in Los Angeles

Megan Moroney and music industry leader Sylvia Rhone will be honored at the second annual Sharing the Spotlight ceremony hosted by She Is The Music. The special event will take place on February 18 in Los Angeles.

She Is The Music is a nonprofit group that works to support and uplift women in the music industry. The goal is simple. It wants to create more space, more chances, and more leadership roles for women in music.

Megan Moroney will receive the Artist Spotlight honor. She is known for her platinum hit songs like “Tennessee Orange,” “Am I Okay?” and “No Caller ID.” Her third studio album, “Cloud 9,” will be released on February 20. Moroney is being recognized not only for her music success but also for working with female-led and diverse teams both on stage and behind the scenes.

According to Billboard, in a statement, Moroney said she feels grateful for the strong women who support her career. She shared that having talented women around her gives her the space to focus on her art.

Music executive Sylvia Rhone will receive the Trailblazer Spotlight honor. Rhone recently stepped down as chairwoman and CEO of Epic Records. Over her long career, she became the first Black woman to lead a major record company when she was named chairman and CEO of Elektra Entertainment Group in 1994. She also previously led East West Records America.

Rhone has worked with many major artists, including Missy Elliott, AC/DC, Erykah Badu, and Travis Scott. She has also spoken strongly about diversity and inclusion in the industry.

The event will include special appearances. Alicia Keys, who co-founded She Is The Music, will present the Artist Spotlight award to Moroney. Other co-founders include Ann Mincieli, Jody Gerson, and Sam Kirby Yoh. The organization will also welcome its new executive director, Laura Segura, during the event.

The Sharing the Spotlight ceremony has a unique idea. Each music leader invites another woman in the business to stand beside her and share the moment. This shows that success grows stronger when women lift each other up.

Last year, the event honored Gracie Abrams as the Artist Spotlight recipient. Now, with Megan Moroney and Sylvia Rhone being recognized, the mission of She Is The Music continues to shine bright.

This event is not just an awards night. It is a celebration of leadership, teamwork, and opportunity for women in music.
