Lizzo Shares Powerful Juneteenth Message with Pride, Power, and a Pop of Red!

Lizzo, the popular Grammy-winning singer, posted a heartfelt message on Instagram to celebrate Juneteenth. In her post, she talked about how special this holiday is to her as a Black woman from Houston, Texas.

Lizzo shared a stunning photo of herself in a sparkly red swimsuit, relaxing by the pool. But the real power was in her caption, where she explained why Juneteenth means more to her than even the 4th of July.

She wrote, “Happy Juneteenth! As a Black girl from Houston this holiday means more to me than the 4th of July. My ancestors lived in Wharton, TX as enslaved people.” Lizzo said she can imagine how they must have felt on June 19th, 1865, when they were finally told they were free.

Lizzo has always supported Black people, not just through her music but also in her activism and public statements, A few days ago she Celebrates Pride Month with Powerful Tribute to Black Trans Women.

Juneteenth is a holiday that celebrates the end of slavery in the United States, especially in Texas, where news of freedom came two years late. Lizzo reminded her fans that many Black Americans still feel like they are not completely free, but they find strength and joy in their culture.

In a fun twist, she added, “We definitely can make strawberry soda out of strawberries,” showing her love for Black traditions and food.

The post received over 40,000 likes and many fans left positive comments. One user said, “BODY SO TEA I THOUGHT THE BRITISH WAS COMINGGG,” cheering her on for looking amazing and speaking up.

Lizzo ended her message by telling everyone to stay safe and sending her love to her fans.

This post shows how Lizzo uses her platform not just for fun, but also to share her history, her feelings, and to teach others about important events like Juneteenth.
