Lady Gaga Opens Up About Fame, Identity Struggles, and Finding Love

Pop icon Lady Gaga has shared how fame once made her feel like she lost her true self, describing her new song Perfect Celebrity as one of the angriest tracks she’s ever written.

Speaking on The Howard Stern Show, Gaga — whose real name is Stefani Germanotta — revealed the song explores her complicated relationship with stardom. “When I was writing, I felt like there was the real me and then there was a clone of me,” she explained.

Her latest album, Mayhem, dives deep into these emotions. Gaga admitted the track is a form of “retaliation against myself,” as she wrestles with the effects of fame. “It’s a bit of a reckless tune,” she added.

Reflecting on her early days in the music industry, Gaga acknowledged how difficult it was to cope with sudden stardom after signing with Interscope Records in 2007.

However, through it all, the Poker Face singer has found stability and love with her fiancé, Michael Polansky. “Being the only woman in the room most of the time since I was a teenager was really hard,” Gaga said in a recent interview with Extra. “But Michael holds me so high — he creates a safe, sacred space for me.”

With raw honesty and a bold new album, Lady Gaga continues to show the world not only her talent but her heart.
