Korean Singer Wheesung Found Dead at 43, Police Investigate Cause

South Korean singer Wheesung, whose real name is Choi Whee-sung, has been found dead at his home in Seoul, according to a report by Yonhap News on Monday (Mar 10). He was 43 years old.

Police are currently investigating the cause of his death, looking into both the possibilities of suicide and overdose. They confirmed there were no signs of a break-in or any foul play.

Wheesung debuted in 2002 with his album Like A Movie and quickly became known for his powerful vocals and emotional ballads. He was scheduled to perform in a joint concert with singer KCM on Mar 15 in Daegu, South Korea.

His passing comes less than a month after the death of actress Kim Sae-ron, whose career had suffered following a drunk driving incident in 2022.
