Singer Halsey recently canceled her June 5 concert in Bangor, Maine, after falling sick just one day before the event. The singer shared on her Instagram story that she had lost her voice and was advised by her doctor not to sing, or she could risk damaging her vocal cords.
Halsey wrote, “There’s nothing that would keep me off of a stage besides not being able to sing.” She explained that she had woken up without a voice and that her team decided it was best to cancel the show to protect her voice for the rest of the tour. She added that the rest of the tour should continue as planned, starting with her next performance.
Fans who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster will receive automatic refunds. Those who bought tickets from other sellers are advised to reach out directly to the place of purchase.
One day before the cancellation, Halsey had already shared that she was not feeling well and needed to go into “lockdown” to rest and recover. She called missing Maine “heartbreaking,” but said she was hopeful about getting better in time for the next show.

Halsey is now set to perform in Holmdel, New Jersey on Friday, June 6, at the PNC Bank Arts Center, with Alvvays and Sir Chloe also performing. In a new Instagram story, she said she’s feeling better and is ready to get back on stage.
International fans are also excited, as Halsey announced a concert in Istanbul, Turkey, on August 21, 2025, at Festival Park Yenikapı. “Can’t wait to see you in Istanbul in August!” she wrote.
Though the Bangor cancellation was sad news, fans are happy to see Halsey recovering and continuing her tour with love and strength.
