Guns N’ Roses Drummer Frank Ferrer Exits Band After Nearly Two Decades

After nearly 20 years behind the drum kit for Guns N’ Roses, Frank Ferrer has officially parted ways with the legendary rock band. The news was confirmed in an Instagram statement on Wednesday, marking the end of Ferrer’s tenure as the longest-serving drummer in the group’s history.

The band described the departure as “amicable,” expressing gratitude for Ferrer’s contributions over the years. “Guns N’ Roses announce the amicable exit of Frank Ferrer,” the statement read. “The band thanks Frank for his friendship, creativity, and sturdy presence over the past 19 years and wishes him success in the next chapter of his musical journey.”

Ferrer joined the band in 2006, stepping in during a live performance that June. Since then, he has been a key part of the rhythm section, including during the band’s massive Not in This Lifetime… reunion tour from 2016 to 2019, which saw Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan back on stage together.

Final Show & Current Lineup

Ferrer’s final performance with Guns N’ Roses took place on November 5, 2023, in Mexico. His departure leaves the band’s lineup consisting of founding members Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan, alongside Dizzy Reed, Richard Fortus, and Melissa Reese.

Life on the Road

In a recent interview with My Global Mind, Ferrer shared insights into his disciplined touring lifestyle, revealing that he avoids alcohol on the road and aims to be in bed by 9 PM before shows.

With Ferrer moving on, fans will be eager to see what’s next for both the drummer and Guns N’ Roses as they continue their legendary rock journey.
